R.J. Berg Publisher has been on the leading edge of
book publishing in the field of American culinary history
for more than thirty years.
Beginning in the 1970s, the publishers focused on food-in-media
under the News & Features Press imprint and in later years
explored the area of food-in-business.
In the late 1980s, the publishers began a culinary travel
series that combined art, history, and culture with food. These titles were produced for corporate and association meeting planners to provide an attractive, informative snapshot of the history, culture, and cuisine of a travel destination.
The American Foodways Press imprint was established in 2006 to publish exclusively in the field of American cultural and social history of food. The three major areas of study are scholarly text and professional reference, 20th-century American family, and American Foodways special subjects.
